SBrick Plus & servo motor

  • August 30, 2017 9:01 PM CEST

Earlier this week I received my first pack of SBrick Plus.

Of course I immediately wanted to start using them.

    However, I noticed:

When connecting a servo motor to channel D, as soon as you power the SBrick Plus, it turns all the way.

You can turn it back, but as soon as you release the control, it turns all the way again.

I tested this with 4x SBrick Plus; all 4 have this issue on channel D.

I tested it with an IR receiver, this didn't have the problem (so the motor is working correctly)

I tested this with several SBrick (the original series), none have this problem.

2 out of the 4 SBrick Plus have the same issue with the C channel, on the other two the C channel is working fine.

Is this a known issue (servo motor on D channel)?

2 SBrick Plus have the same issue on the C channel, the other 2 don't have this same issue on the C channel; is there a way I can 'reset' the SBrick Plus, so the first 2 SBrick Plus will have a workable C channel for servo motor?

    Dear Corné,

We ask you to check the firmware version on the bricks. Go to the "SBrick's" menu, and update the firmwares of the SBrick's.

If it won't solve the issue, please contact us again at info@sbrick.com

    Thank you!

    Best,

    Hi Balint,

They're brand new, and according to the app they have the newest firmware already.

So, how can I re-apply the firmware?

    Kind regards,

So, another week, another no more information.

Coming up on three weeks now.

Starting to get a little impatient here...

    Kind regards,

    Hi Balint,

    What's the status of this?

I checked with the app one of the SBrick Plus devices last night, but it still said it has the latest firmware...

    Kind regards,

    Balint,

Over 3 weeks ago you said the developers found the issue, and you expected it to be fixed that week.

However, I still have the same problem, and the App still says the SBrick Plus have the newest firmware.

    Any update...?

    Hi Balint,

I'm really starting to wonder whether or not I'll ever get an answer on this.

Last night I checked the firmware of the SBrick Plus once again, and there's still no newer firmware.

If this problem isn't going to be fixed, maybe I should return the devices FOR A FULL REFUND?

    Regards,

Last night there was an update of the App, including a new firmware.

I've upgraded the firmware, and now servo motors work correctly on all channels of the SBrick Plus!

So I finally can start using them...
