Take a standard 60fps footage, convert it to 20fps or even 15fps with VirtualDub (you may need to convert to avi first), and compare the result with a your usual video editing software. I have obtained very smooth slow motion sequences this way.

Compared to other hobbies, there is no competition, cause we all know that we have all started from scratch when we were kids, and we all know that we'll always have a lot to learn!
