  This is what I've now. I can attach a 9V battery. My friend drilled two small holes for the cables and solder them for me.
  The input now can be also used an always on port if needed.

  Instead of the power functions battery, I would like to use a 9V battery.

  I had the same problem. When I first powered on I saw that it requires an update. I didn't have time for the update. I'd unpluged, come later, and got the same problem.

  Try the update now, as I'm doing.
  It is finished now and working.
