I'm working on a Lego Battlebot that uses these wheels and was hoping to be able to figure out how to either use Sbrick's software, or Brickcontroller 2 to use a video game controller instead of a phone screen. Then I could create a profile that lets me mix motor movement in a way that the two joysticks control the bot like a first person shooter (fwd, back, rotate, strafe side to side etc.) Been using power functions for a while, but brand new to Sbrick and trying to replace the IR controllers with something with more control options.  less

Lénárd Pásztor Do you have ideas how do you want to control these motors?

I've read in forums that PS4 and above controllers tend to work, but also equivalent aftermarket ones that are cheaper. I saw this video and was thinking of looking for this controller: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irMby1yHxYs&list=PLzR2ftjB03Fn5czSsDPul1maicM3hgmdI&index=8&t=77s . Then as far as controlling movement, I would want it to be a 2 stick control... probably left stick is forward, back, strafe left/right... right stick is rotate left/right... and I'm not sure what up/don would be (usually that would be more precise aiming in a shooter, haha).  less

Lénárd Pásztor it is a very custom useage of the motors. The current SBrick app can't do this way, because the two stick controlling all of the four motors in parallel. We take a look about what can we do, because this model can be fun

Jesse Sure, this video details how a guy programmed a control interface on his phone to move this kind of vehicle...here's a link to the section where he shows it moving: https://youtu.be/SYtFCyF44h0?t=533. I actually think I may have figured it out tonight. I bought a PS4 controller and connected it to the app BrickController2 on my iPhone. Then I was able to specify what motors spin a specific direction for each joystick axis and created the correct combinations to move the way I want. Here's a diagram of the way you cans each motor needs to turn to create movement in each direction. https://www.vexforum.com/uploads/default/original/2X/c/c7963dec531b7e893ddcf91c4fc9159928c4b56c.jpeg
I'll try and get some video showing the movement and how the controller controls it and once I'm really happy with it I can screenshot the settings in case other people want to do it.  less

Jesse Here's a video showing the bot I made in action. It's being controlled by a PS4 controller through my iPhone running Brickcontroller2... and standard PF motors plugged into an sBrick receiver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VUzNrJ3X-w

  • Lénárd Pásztor Hi All! We created an update for train fans. Our users usually configure multiple trains in one profile. The problem started when not all trains powered on and the profile not started. Now you can stop the discovery and run the profile if you want even if not all device connected. We hope this solves the problem. Any comments are welcome. :)

If you go to root (Home) menu, then Market, do you have Profiles? If you do (happened at least once to me when upgrading to an older version) try removing all Profiles then downloading all again. You may also try clearing all aplicaton data and cache (tap it, App Info).   Jorge, you are the man! Such a simple action, totally slipped my mind. I was able to download all profiles, now I can assign them to my MOC. I will test the sBrick as soon as I get a chance :) This post was edited by Mihai Dreve at January 9, 2015 4:18 PM CET

So, I finally got my sBrick yesterday, love how it looks, but let's talk about functionality, which is missing. Using the sBrick app, I discovered my sBrick, assigned it to a MOC, but when I try to add a Profile, that screen is empty... I am using the latest version of the Android app, I reinstalled it twice, I cannot use any profiles, thus I cannot use the sBrick. Yes, I am doing this on an Android 4.4.2 device, with Bluetooth 4.0, as required. Any ideas? Thank you :) This post was edited by Mihai Dreve at January 9, 2015 11:50 AM CET
