I only used the PS4 controller with the Brick Controller app (the older one - Brick Controller 2 caused issues )
I was never able to use my PS4 controller with the official SBrick app.

I love the idea and would immediately buy one.

They provide very much current at 9.6 Volts. I glued the cell holders to a 6*12 plate with MMA glue, added a switch and spliced the wires into a short PowerFunctions extension cable (but only the outer ones, so you could use one end to power the SBrick and the other end to control a motor with the same cable).
However, my solution is very bulky and heavy. I even tried the Lepin (now Xingbao) rechargeable battery boxes. They provide you a cable with a round connector (which you plug into the battery box) and an USB connector. These are cheap as dirt, but the electronics are very easily fried when you draw too much current (and a stalled L-Motor is too much already).
I would be very happy too, if Vengit would offer a high quality and compact rechargeable battery.  less

I just tested if every button of the PS4 controller is recognized. Well...
the two joysticks do, the four direction buttons (left, right, up, down) do.
    But that's about it.
    The others (L1, L2, R1, R2, X, O, ^, #, "Share", "Options") do...  more

I am not nagging here, I really AM happy that I can use my PS4 controller.
Just wanted to report what is working and what is not, for further development.
    Thanks again.

I noticed you developed a new app which can control both SBrick and BuWizz at the same time.
I tried it, but using a PS4 controller I had a major issue: When I tried to assign a button or joystick to a channel it would assign one itself and go to full throttle.
As I found out, it had to do with the trigger buttons (L2 and R2)
Your app recognizes them as fully pressed if they are not (it says 'motion code ???' I think 54) and if I press them half way the 'motion code' thing disappears, but instead 'left trigger button' or 'right trigger button' appears.
So either way - if I'm pressing the trigger buttons or not, the app thinks I do, thus making the app not usable for me.
Your app was called 'brick control' if I still remember. Is there any progress?

BTW: I appreciate very much what you are doing.   less

Павел Покладов Just got a ps4 controler off a bazar. I'm anxious to try it the way you did. Touch screen sucks major ass especially with screen protection glass added.

It would be brilliant if one could connect a joypad just like the SBrick with one (the same) app.
Me, as a "non-programmer" would tremendously appreciate that.
I would even pay a couple Euros buying the app on GOOGLE play.

    Thank you for the answer.
I didn't even know. I thought the 'screen rotation' would cover that kind of thing. But since it's pretty laggy, that explains quite a bit.

    I have a Galaxy Xcover3. (Android 6.0.1)
The app says "your device doesn't support the clinometer function"
Is it the phone's fault or has it to do with the app?
I'd love to try the clinometer function. Can you help me?

By the way - 41MB is pretty much. I expected something like "EV3-simple remote"
