For me it works with the port reverser on the screen where you assign controls to sbrick ports.
And in 1.2 the B & C are still swapped although on that screen it seems OK, in profile layout not.

    - Got the v1.2 app and finally the 2 Bricks on one profile work ! Both HTC One and Nexus 7
    - The Nexus 7 can now hold onto the SBrick connection, but on dual Sbrick profile the Sbrick not used throws a "reconnecting" popup after a while. For example on 42009, after parking the crane the lower Sbrick function are not used, playing with the sliders associacted with upper Sbrick - the other one seems to disconnect which means 1. no functions until profile reload 2. popup showing up and distracting from/blocking functions still working
    - Nexus 7 has a stupid bug where the profile graphics displays is stretched and looses some area on the right. Upon exiting the profile to MOC screen (button in profile or Android back) and reloading its even more stretched, repeats again and again until app is killed and reloaded. See pic below
    - Tried to upgrade a friends SBrick from HTC and it did not work the first time. Had to close the app, BT, SBrick and phone power cycle and then it went. Even...    less

I used the nRF Master Control Panel (BLE) to prove that the SBrick was still on FW 4.0 even after the success message on Nexus and went to 4.2b2 after update through HTC One. The versions are under the Device information service.

I risked my working config on HTC One and used the beta app there. Each of the two SBrick was updated on the first try to 42b2.
after that, they stopped responding = no port tester, no profile ... even phone restarts, profile reloads did not work, even app reinstall. After downgrade to 0.8 and loading 1.1 over the 0.8 it started to work.
Good news is that the response to control seems better.
    Bad news, old news:
    - app crashes as usuall
    - trouble loading profiles from market, had to delete and redownload in different order otherwise it would not add the last profile to creation (I tried to add the last downloaded profile and it had linked the one before)
    - invert buttons for channels B and C are still swapped.

On Nexus 7 the Sbrick is still no usable even after upgrade (both brick and app). The profile loads but after about 1 sec of powering any channel it stops responding until exited and reloaded. Port tester seems ok. nRF exhibits similar behavior, after issuing a command...    less

Sorry for maybe stupid question (I was 2 months out of the loop), but does that mean that the app officialy does not support more Sbricks on one profile ? Is this the same for iOS ?
I guess for the time being I'll have to solve it for the 42009 mod by having either 2 devices or 2 profiles on one with functions driver (steering, power, stabilizers, chassis lights) and operator (boom angle, lenghts, winch and rotation)  less

HTC ONE - now on Lollipop 5.0.2, still seems generally ok,
    - joystick finally works, although sensibility on the 4.7" screen is not the best even when stretched to fill the height on landscape a slider is more precise
    - Can't control 2 SBricks from one layout, I add and configure both of them and only the first work.
    - Sometimes a profile is lost from the MOC, usually the last added one
    Nexus 7 - still on 5.0.2
    - first thing is minor, the joysticks on 16:10 layout (own or default) seem not to be centered
    - what is worse, the control is not working well. It was laggy and buffering before, now there is less buffer, but more lag and stuck control (sometimes a value is stuck for 1-2 sec)
    - Also it seems the mapping of controls does not go to full or something. For example a Volvo can climb a carpet with HTC and full slider and not with N7 ... maybe difference in 16:10 vs 16:9

Each control has type (slider etc), position & size, graphics and channel name - the last one is for Example "Slider 1", "Steering"... this it the name we can assign to the linked Sbrick.
My idea of Profile editor is that you will be able to place these control types, position & resize them, maybe skin them and most importantly name them.
So one could place 8 controls, name them "Train 1" to "Train 8", open first linked SBrick and ad A to D Train 1 to 4 and open second Sbrick and add to A to D channel Train 5 to 8...  less

    - having a PC (and easily MAC/Linux if using portable language) to generate profiles that can be loaded by app is faster. And if done in HTML5 for example its possible that one would be able to use even mobile browser.
    - this would also eliminate the need to create the editing engine for each platform - as you can see, we (as android users) still don't have the functionality that iOS guys have, even after 3-4 months. I do not want to wait to Xmas 2015 to be able to customize profiles while iOS guys will be happy to do so half a year before us (I understand Apple-first approach when the app generates money, but as part of HW product that I paid for, I really, really hate it)

Now, this seems to be what I called lag on Nexus. Tried all the devices I have and the results areBad - Google Nexus 7, Motorola Moto G 1st and 2nd gen (all 4.4 and stock Android UI)Good - HTC One M7 (4.3 plus HTC Sense 6.0)
It happens for sliders both vertical and horizontal (Test2 and Gamepad 2 profiles), and port testing screen too (other controls don't work for me). It seems to sample the sliding movement and buffer the inputs.
I did a quick test on port testing screen:- if I keep sliding left/right the inputs are buffered.- if I just click left/right, I can do it really fast and it seems OK  less

It is also written that Android brought support to this only with version 4.3.
    ...
Unfortunately technical limitations are nowhere to be found on the Sbrick KS page or homepage so I really feel for the guys having incompatible HW. The early pledgers had no playstore page to tell them the version compatibility.
In terms of consumer laws the missing/hidden compatibility can be a reason for full refund. SBrick is being marketed to general population and not to specialist (as engineering sample). So blaming it solely on the customers is not really correct.  less

The compatibility with broad scope of different devices is always a challenge - we have a product at work that 'should' run on most current devices and its a never ending fight. Even more if the Sbrick uses a feature (BLE) that is quite young in terms of adaptation.
But the SW is a mess or better say the disparity compared to the 'equality' as presented in the KS campaign. There is no priority announced for any of the platforms, even the need for 4.3+ android is not mentioned. So saying "iOS is a little better but at best is still beta" is a bitter understatement if one group can play with the working profiles (see that all the youtube videos returned for sbrick use only iOS profiles), another is left with mostly useless alpha test profiles (even missing the pledged ones) and last one (WM) cannot do...    less

Generally SBrick app must run on Android 4.3+ and iOS 7.0+ devices which has Bluetooth 4.0 radio on it. The following list(s) is based on our customer's feedback about our own devices. The SBrick application is still alpha, so you can find bugs and deffects easily. If the app can see the SBric...

Adrian Wigg said: It took me 5-8 goes to update my 2 SBricks firmware last night :-/ Have two green lights on solid now :-) Question: The answer may already be out there but how do you change the rotaion of one motor on the Joystick? For me it works with the port reverser on the screen where you assign controls to sbrick ports. And in 1.2 the B & C are still swapped although on that screen it seems OK, in profile layout not.

Few more updates: - Got the v1.2 app and finally the 2 Bricks on one profile work ! Both HTC One and Nexus 7 - The Nexus 7 can now hold onto the SBrick connection, but on dual Sbrick profile the Sbrick not used throws a "reconnecting" popup after a while. For example on 42009, after parking the crane the lower Sbrick function are not used, playing with the sliders associacted with upper Sbrick - the other one seems to disconnect which means 1. no functions until profile reload 2. popup showing up and distracting from/blocking functions still working - Nexus 7 has a stupid bug where the profile graphics displays is stretched and looses some area on the right. Upon exiting the profile to MOC screen (button in profile or Android back) and reloading its even more stretched, repeats again and again until app is killed and reloaded. See pic below - Tried to upgrade a friends SBrick from HTC and it did not work the first time. Had to close the app, BT, SBrick and phone power cycle and then it went. Even after the Sbrick was updated the port tester did not work on HTC One, but all worked on Nexus 7 that was not connected to that Sbrick before update. Strange. So far it seems to be some progress, at least with the devices I have. But would not suggest it to pure consumers yet. This post was edited by Matej Papluh at April 26, 2015 12:19 AM CEST

I have a feeling that devices with plain android or Google made - and Moto G 1/2 are still product from 'owned by Google' era -  display same behavior, the Moto G2 does not work the same way as Nexus 7 for me (and Moto G 1 too, but with broken screen I do not play with that one much)

Karsten, I'd suggest to check it, if it is really updated, I could not do that on my Nexus 7 tablet (even if it said update complete), but when using HTC One it was OK on first try.  I used the nRF Master Control Panel (BLE) to prove that the SBrick was still on FW 4.0 even after the success message on Nexus and went to 4.2b2 after update through HTC One. The versions are under the Device information service. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.mcp&hl=en Short info can be found in this video by TechnicBRICKs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_NeGcnJVZw

Works for me.  I'd suggest to make a new profile per each display ratio and see if something appears.  This post was edited by Matej Papluh at April 15, 2015 11:19 PM CEST
