We look to see how easy it will be to build with, and check whether the individual components fit through a Technic hole. TL;DR they do!

    SBrick: roadmap 2020–21

It’s been a crazy year for everyone, so it’s been a perfect time to step back and see what we’ve achieved so far, and to clarify our goals for the future. If you’ve wondered what our plans are for SBrick, then this post is for you.

    The story so far

It’s been an incredible journey so far for SBrick, a global adventure that started in Budapest in 2013 with a very different IoT idea and a goal to go to the crowd to ask for its support. We produced SBrick, and then SBrick Plus, two smart bricks designed to remote control the Power Functions family by giving you real control over your incredible creations.

I wanted to quickly let you know that we have encountered a problem with SBrickstarter. We have the platform and it's ready to go, but we've hit a legal roadblock. As some of you might know, we're based in Budapest; as a Hungarian company we have to abide by Hungarian laws as well as EU legislature.

The problem we are facing is that in Hungary SBrickstarter falls into a legal grey area making it very risky for us to open the gates to SBrickstarter. We don't want to incur any penalties or fines, so we are working hard to find a solution in one of two ways.

    1. To continue with SBrickstarter in Hungary, but with assurances from government and the tax office that what we're doing is ok. This is what we're working on now.
    2. To find another country from which to base SBrickstarter. This is more complicated as it involves creating a new company in another jurisdiction and running SBrickstarter from there. We will only go down this route once we have exhausted all possibilities of 1....    less
