When I try to configure the SBrick on my iphone, it wont allow me to asign the same port twice. I tried using the same name (as previously advised) whereupon it just gave me 'not allowed' warnings, and also with different names whereupon it deleted the assignation every time I tried to assign the port to the second name. I set it up no problem before with a previous profile (now deleted) but now I cant repeat it. I hope some software update has not killed off this trick.
    How is it done?  less

I switched my phone off completely, left it a while, then re-booted it, and this time the 'scary circles' disappeared. I then went through the update routine to version 12, and everything worked properly, even my disabled truck. At long last (over 4 months!) I can now drive both my trucks properly. I had some lights set up for a sequence, but I think I'll just give that a miss for now.
The Sbricks with smartphone controllers do work well, but after my experience I think I'll just stick with Lego IR until the bricks are better established and error free. I would also prefer if there was a 1 or 2-channel brick available, rather than having to shell out another £53 when I only need one additional channel.  less

Well, whoopie!! iOS sorted ... except it isn't!!!!!
I have two almost identical trucks, both with Sbricks. One worked fine (before the update), one didn't. After having reinstalled the app, my profiles and settings, I now have a minor on/off switch problem with the truck that previously worked, which is annoying enough, but the second truck is a TOTAL DISASTER!
Both the steering and acceleration continue active for two seconds after I take my finger off the slider, and it runs into things; it is completely undriveable. I had not intended to rebuild my truck quite this early in its life, but I am getting plenty of practice now. Oh, and guess what, the famous steering problem is still there .....
You know, I've had enough. I've sat with this truck that won't go for four months, waiting for a fix from Vengt. I've converted it to Lego IR control and that's the way its going to stay. Vengt will be getting their Sbrick back with a demand for FULL repayment

I have just bought a second SBrick. It simply would not operate a servo motor properly - as I move the slider slowly out to 'full lock', the motor just shudders at low settings then goes out to 90 degrees. I have no control over low steering angles. Everything else works ok. I could post a video on YouTube if I knew how to!
I received a replacement SBbrick form Vengit (great service) but the replacement is just the same. The problem is definitely with the new SBrick and its replacement.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there maybe a faulty batch of SBricks?  less

The SBrick and steering setups are identical to my first truck, and I copied the same profile for the second (with one modification which has nothing to do with the steering). Both trucks use the same steering construction with a Lego servo motor each.
The second (new) truck's steering has a very poor response. As I move the slider, the brick hums ok, but the wheels don't start moving until I have moved the slider more than half way out to the maximum, then they go to full lock very quickly as I move on to maximum. There is no 'slight-turn' option.
I cross-linked the two trucks so that the first truck's SBrick powered the second truck's servo, and the servo worked properly, so the problem is in the SBrick or the profile, not the servo. Unfortunately it is not practical to sawp the second SBrick into the first truck.
I use an iPhone for the first truck and an iPod Touch for the second. If I re-program the iPhone to control the second truck,...    less

Hi each!  I don't normally do personal profiles, but this site seems pretty friendly and informative, plus it will be good to talk to other AFOL across the world.
A few months ago I was actively looking for a new desk-top hobby in my increasing retirement. I designed timber-framed housing. I have always loved making things, having grown up with Meccano then scale model aircraft (control-line in those days - RC was too expensive), so going back to model-making seemed the obvious path. One look at the Mercedes-Benz Arocs and I was blown away, and that was before I discovered they could be converted to remote-control. A web trawl revealed the SBrick and I was hooked.
I have already rebuilt my Arocs into its artic format with one SBrick in the tractor - I particularly like manoevering, parking, uncoupling it, etc, and once I have kitted it up with lights and any other gadget I can think of, I'll build one or two more trailers (including a low-loader for my RC Audi TT), then its another big...    less

That being the case, I am quite happy to be patient and look forward to the brick's development. 'Its future is bright', as they say.
In the meantime, and so far a 'how-to's are concerned, can I suggest that users/forum members should be encouraged to write down their experiences (I try to make notes of what I am doing and the links I am using as I go along), and they 'publish' them up in a separate 'How-To' section that other users can trawl for ideas and clues? Some blogs will be better than others, but let the reader be the judge of that. They all want to be written in the writer's first language, and the forum would need a good moderator to weed out the duplicates and out-of-date stuff. You can never have too much information - the skill is in skipping past any sections...    less

After this new input devices will be avaiable, for example: gyro on your phone and game controllers. :)

All this is good stuff I have just been asking about myself (as a newbee) - and its now March 2016. Time and time again I read interesting posts about finishing redesigns, etc, but I never see them published on the SBrick website. Or am I just looking in the wrong places?
It would be really great (and professional) if Vengit could bring all these improvements under one website topic, and how about employing a PR specialist to do it?
